An INCREDIBLE Corporate Director – Spa & Wellness role in the Caribbean

  • Role:                Corporate Director – Spa and Wellness
  • Company:        A large resort holiday company with properties across the Caribbean.
  • Website:          On application
  • Location:         The Caribbean – based in Jamaica
  • Salary:             From $120,000US++ without local deductions – circa tax free.
  • Housing:          Provided or given an accommodation allowance on top of your salary
  • Car:                 Motor vehicle provided
  • Flights:            Provided to join the company
  • Benefits:          Life insurance, re-location allowance, local health insurance, pension, resort stays, lunch, partner discounts and more.
  • Full JD:            On application
  • Working:         5 day working week with an expectation of some weekends, OT and public holidays too.
  • Bonus:             Yes – circa 25% determined by financial KPI success
  • Vacation:         3 weeks per year
  • Start date:       Soon
  • Reporting to:   Corporate Director – On Property Revenue and Chief Administration Officer
  • Working:         Office based with lots of travel around the resorts
  • Working with: Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Financial Officer, General Managers, Revenue Managers, Corporate Directors and Managers

The Brilliant Role Overview

  • Accountable for overseeing company-wide Spa and Wellness operations and implementing financial planning and control that supports growth and business success. He/she develops policies, procedures, plans and programs governing brand standards whilst providing the best quality services, characterised by a congenial and secure environment for guests and team members alike.
  • Accountable for continued growth of Spa and Wellness across all locations, while implementing the necessary measures to ensure the adaptability to industry trends.
  • Ensure Wellness initiatives are implemented across all locations for both guests and staff.
  • Implement financial strategies to increase revenue generation in keeping with brand guidelines.
  • This is working within a company which is looking to expand and develop by 100% in the coming 5 years

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for:
    • Corporate Spa Operations Manager, Corporate Spa Education Manager, Corporate Fitness Manager, Regional Spa Education Manager, Regional Spa Manager, Spa Operations Associate, Resort Spa Managers and Wellness Associates.
  • Planning:
    • Develops strategic plan for the operation of each facility (short- and long[1]term).
    • Develops annual business plan including budget (resorts and sub[1]departments), capex and staffing guides.
    • Plans, organizes and oversees the development and opening of all new facilities, as well as refurbishing projects for existing facilities.
    • Develops wellness initiatives for guests and team members in keeping with brand guidelines.
    • Develops and implements programmes geared towards Spa and Wellness awareness.
  • Staff Development:
    • Manages, coaches and implements staff training in all aspects of Spa Operations.
    • Recruits, develops and trains resort Spa Managers.
    • Conducts performance appraisals
  • Execution:
    • Provide support for the development team in designing new Spa facilities.
    • Serves as a catalyst for Sales & Marketing and all other revenue-producing departments within operations.
    • Works efficiently with Resort and Corporate Public Relations in all aspects of Spa and wellness promotions and media as required.
    • Uses creative skills in developing new treatments, services and Spa and Wellness products.
    • Recommending wellness initiatives to be incorporated in every aspect of the hotel, including rooms, in room dining and sales.
    • Working with the relevant departments to create wellness initiatives for team members.
    • Reviews all monthly reports from properties, summarizes and prioritizes action items.
    • Makes regular visits to the properties for inspections and to ensure that each Spa follows the standard operating procedures including all Environmental Health and Safety protocols, policies and procedures.
    • Establishes close business relationships with vendors in developing various product lines, training programs and other services that enhance sales.
    • Develops and updates Spa organizational chart
    • Establishes and updates job descriptions.
    • Establishes and maintains financial and administrative controls.
    • Implements and maintains safety procedures, practices and complies with local legislation.
    • Develops, maintains and assures application of departmental emergency procedures and/or safety manual.
    • Assist with promotions and sales by recommending promotions and initiatives to increase the visibility of the Spa and its services to guests.
    • Produces annual marketing plans in conjunction with hotel activities.
    • Recommend new Spa and Wellness initiatives to be pursued by the Group.

You the Perfect Candidate

  • MBA or Master’s degree preferred; Certification in relevant professional area.
  • You might be currently the Corporate Spa Manager, or Fleet Spa Manager for a cruise line firm looking after the fleet of ships. You might be Spa Director for a plethora of large resort properties shoreside. You could be a Country Spa Manager accountable for a massive portfolio. You will have managed a multi-site, multi-venue, multi-resort functions which are of high quality.
  • Experience of designing, and opening up new spa’s
  • Experience of purchasing, retail and merchandising.
  • A superb leader with a great focus on ‘Service Excellence’, plus revenue generation.
  • Your resume will SCREAM volume and revenue generation on a MASSIVE scale.
  • Your resume will show your revenue business successes in terms of financial achievements, budget accountability, number of people you manage, weblinks to the properties you focus on, P&L talents, selling strategies and much more.
  • You will be IT skilled.
  • Caribbean experience a plus.
